Uploaded on May 19, 2008 Adam Duke / Duke Videos Footage Type: Consumer or DVD Restrictions: Only authorised users may downloadThis is the only review available worldwide featuring all 12 rounds of the 1990 FIA World Rally Championship newly edited for DVD. If you missed any of the action the first time round, this is the way to catch up all in one go. And what a year to catch up on!
1990 was set to be a fantastic season, with Toyota taking on Lancia and the Europeans taking on the Scandinavians head-to-head. Manufacturer interest was hotting up again with five entering the championship, and the name Subaru was beginning to make a mark on the world rally stage for the first time.
Rallying came alive again as spectators enjoyed the spectacle of such brilliant drivers as Carlos Sainz, Timo Salonen, Didier Auriol, Colin McRae, Hannu Mikkola, Juha Kankunnen and Tommi Makinen, behind the wheel of machinery with performance on a par with the old Group B ïsupercarsÍ which so entranced world audiences in the mid-80s.
In this official DVD review every round is covered in detail, with event-by-event updates of championship positions letting you see how the title race developed. Or, you can forget the statistics and just concentrate on the jaw-dropping footage from both inside and outside the cars as well as fantastic helicopter views!
From the first special stage in Monte Carlo to the final chequered flag in the RAC Great Britain Rally the white-knuckle action never ends! This DVD delivers 112 minutes of top-class entertainment that no true rally fan should miss!
'Duke's terrific collection of world Rally championship reissues on DVD continues to offer fantastic nostalgia trips for rally fans....the seasonal reviews are great - all work in the Motorsport News office ground to a halt as we relived Colin McRae's glorious 1995 WRC success' Motorsport News, July 2008
'Relive the end of the Group B rallying era and the start of the Group A revolution with Duke's superb season review DVDs. The years 1985 to 1991 are available now and make perfect gifts for the anorak and bobble hat brigade. Muddy brilliant!' Autosport November 2007
