Motorsport Mundial 46-10

This week the FIA Truck Racing championship races for the title at Le Mans, and there were plenty of upsets for DTM at Adria in Italy. It was the first wet race of the year at the last round of the Sirocco R-cup and a record breaking six hour VLN race. Elite League Speedway starts us off this week with Wolves against Poole.

We've got two different takes on the fuel of the future, first with Honda's hydrogen fuel cell -powered Clarity and then a mild hybrid choice for the Kia Sportage SUV.

Then we're staying with alternative power sources but getting very racy and very high-tech thanks to Jaguar and its jet-powered sports car.

IRC Cyprus and Golden Stage

Nasser Al-Attiyah has become the eighth different winner in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this year after claiming victory on the mixed-surface FxPro Cyprus Rally, the 12th and final round of the all-action 2010 IRC season, which finished in Limassol this evening (Saturday).

Andreas Mikkelsen has won the inaugural Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally, which was shown live on Eurosport and Cypriot channel LumiereTV and carried a prize fund of 150,000 Euros.

This week there is motorcycle road racing in the Isle of Man as the Supersport bikes are let loose on closed public roads at the Southern 100.

Welcome to a week that's packed with new cars and concepts, and with Paris fresh in our minds we'll start with concepts, one from Renault and the other from its homegrown rival, Peugeot. We've got some offroaders and some onroaders to follow, and you may not be able to guess which one is the odd man out, but there is definitely one - but first, it's news time.

WTCC Okayama HLTS - International Sound and commentaries

For the third consecutive year Japanese Gods sent the rain to soak the WTCC races at Okayama. In spite of this, local fans did not miss the last appearance of the World Championship before it moves to Suzuka from next year and a crowd of 31,000 attended over the weekend.

After a Saturday that was clearly in favour of BMW, the rainy Sunday smiled to Yvan Muller. In extremely difficult conditions the Chevrolet driver kept a cool head and collected two third places that are worth their weight in gold. Especially as his two rivals in the title fight. committed hara-kiri.
After a brilliant second place in the first race, Andy Priaulx spun off and retired in the early stages of Race 2. A few laps later Gabriele Tarquini lost control and crashed from the lead.

The Italian, reigning world champion, has been cut out of the fight, while Priaulx now has a 37-point gap with 50 still to be awarded.

In the Manufacturers' Championship, Chevrolet is only 14 points shy from securing the title.
Rob Huff and Augusto Farfus shared victories today. The Briton pushed beyond the limits in the first race to get past the BMW cars of Farfus and Priaulx, while the Brazilian managed to stay on the track in the final laps of the second race after forcing Tarquini to make the fatal mistake.

The championship will resume for the season finale (rounds 21 and 22) at Macau, on November 21 where the Rookie Challenge and the Independents' Trophy will also elect their champions.

This is our second program of racing at the North West 200, the public road circuit is a real challenge to Motorcycle racers and coming up are the second races for the Superbikes and the 600 Supersport.

On the program this week the first of two visits to the North West 200 in Northern Ireland where the riders take each other on at high speed on closed public roads, its one of the highlights of the Motorcycle road racing season.

It's showtime again and on this occasion we mean Car Show time - here's our second look at the show halls in Issy les Moulineaux - and once again it's all electric.

The weird thing is that while the show halls are packed with the new century's solutions to the growing problems of personal transportation, they all deal with the energy source and not one of them addresses the other issue - and when you're in the most gridlocked city in Europe, traffic itself is the problem.
